Sukup Farm Hopper Bin SpecificationsSkyway offers two different lines of Sukup Hopper Bottom Storage bins, Medium Duty and Heavy Duty. Medium Duty are offered 12'-21' diameter, 3-6 rings tall. Heavy Duty come 15'-36' diameter and range from 3-18 rings tall.

Medium Duty Hopper Bins Feature:
Sukup Medium Duty Hopper Bin- legs formed in an extra-strong stiffener profile.
- 12', 15' and 18' diameter bins have three legs per sidewall sheet.
- Legs extend to the bottom two rings, providing extra support for the sidewall sheets.
- 12' hopper is 60°, 15' - 21' hoppers are 45°.
- Angle-shaped leg cross bracing and C-shaped leg-to-hopper bracing (18' & 21') provide solid support for the hopper bins.
- The hopper is made of heavy-gauge, galvanized steel for strength and durability.
- Hopper is connected directly to the sidewall, so there is no ledge or lip to trap grain.
- 12’, 15’ and 18’ dia. bins have three legs per sidewall sheet. 21’ dia. bins have four legs per sheet.
Heavy Duty Hopper Bins Feature:
Sukup Heavy Duty Hopper Bin- Hopper Base – 70,000 psi tensile strength steel wide flange (I-Beam) legs are extra-strong and stable.
- L-shaped cross-bracing between the legs adds even more stability.
- Hopper Bottom – The 45° hopper is made of heavy-gauge, galvanized steel for strength and durability.
- Exclusive inner apron prevents grain from accumulating on the ledge where the tank and bottom cone join.
- Nearly 3' of ground clearance under the rack-n-pinion opener.
Hopper Features Common to Medium and Heavy Duty:
- Standard hoppers are 45°
- 60° hoppers are also available in some sizes.

- Rack and pinion roller slide gate, standard on the large, 16” dia. unloading outlet, makes it easier to open and close.
- Ample ground clearance to allow for an auger take-up.
Sidewall Features Common to Medium and Heavy Duty:
- 4" wide corrugation, 44" tall sidewall sheets.
- Bolts are grade 8.2 for added strength with JS500 coating for exceptional corrosion protection.
- 70,000 PSI tensile strength steel
Roof Features Common to Medium and Heavy Duty:
Rigidized Bin Roof Panels- Standard roof peak load rating is 5000* lbs, evenly distributed on peak ring as pure vertical load with uniformly distributed roof snow load calculated from 40 psf ground snow zone or 90 mph wind zone as defined by ASCE7-05 Code. Peak Load Rating can be upgraded for heavier loads.
- Continuous eave clip provides a strong roof-to-sidewall connection.
- Roof rings are standard on Sukup bins 18' and larger. Exclusive, patent pending roof ring clips ensure that roof rings stay in place for years to come.
- 20" x 35.5" oval manhole opening is a comfortable fit for most operators.
- Manhole cover is held securely in place by special latches. When open, the lid lays flat against the roof, eliminating the mess of water and soggy bees wings that can accumulate.
- 38" peak opening provides approximately 8 ft2 of air exhaust area.
- Peak lid cover is mounted on steel rods to allow it to slide open and closed and prevent it from blowing around on windy days.
